Zoo Field Trip

April 28, 2017
I went with Dallas on his field trip to the zoo this year.  We had one other boy in our group and walked around with Brock and his dad most of the day.  They boys had a great time, especially at the dolphin show.  They ate much later than they are used to, though, so I had to listed to some complaining about being hungry.

Finally, LUNCH!!

Coloring eggs

The boys had been playing outside prior to this, and I told Dallas to go wash his face before he started coloring eggs.  He insisted that he looked in the mirror and his face wasn't dirty.  HA!

Random Spring Happenings

It's been pretty nice out lately, so one Friday on Spring Break the boys went skating at the bike park.  I can't fit bikes in my car anymore, so they had to skate.  They skated 3 miles and had a blast!

Ty's cat, Sophie, had her first litter of kittens on March 13.  She had 4 boys, and Ty and Dallas had a great time playing with them until they found their new homes.

Dallas's favorite kitten, named Little Bob (top right) went to live with Grandma Barnhart,

We also got new chicks.

Our pine tree in the back corner of our yard died, so we had to cut it down.  Justin is going to build me a potting shed in that space now.

Every once in a while the boys bring home a school paper that just really makes me happy.  Above is Ty's paper that he wrote after they read a story about a city mouse and a country mouse.  They had to write about which they would rather be and why.  He says he wants to be a country mouse because he likes to do the "old fashion things."  HA!  I kid after my own heart!
And here is Dallas's.  When asked who is worth more to you than gold, my kid answers "God!" BOOM!!
