Mommy's New Practice

For anyone out there who might not know, I'm opening a practice in January!!  Construction started last week so here are preliminary pictures.  I'll keep them updated as construction moves along.

The first 2 pictures are of our dispensary.

This is going to be the exam room.

A Day Off

Last Thursday, on my day off, I took the boys to Hamilton Town Center for a Pumpkin Drop.  We were there for about an hour in the morning and watched them do 2 drops of pumpkins from a crane.  The first drop was 6 huge pumpkins covered in flour so they would put up a big plume when they splatted on the pavement.  The second drop was a 300lb pumpkin that they dropped on an old broken down car.  The boys thought that was amazing.  I recorded it on my phone, and Dallas has watched it about 100 times since then.

It was really warm that day, so after the pumpkin drop, we went home and played outside.  "Super Ty" wanted to try his hand at tree climbing "like Daddy does."

Here's my other little monkey

The Garden...Final Results

Well, I recently harvested the rest of what was in the garden, so here are the results.  Not bad if I do say so myself.
Basil

Oregano

Monster Zucchini :)

Tomatoes.  This is probably 10% of the tomatoes I got the whole season.
Here's my little helper making some tomato sauce.

Yukon Gold Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes

Russet Potatoes

Carrots, duh.
Somehow I forgot to take any pictures of the lima beans, but they turned out really well also.  Dallas and Justin loved eating them right off the plant.

Last winter, when I was planning my garden, I remarked to Justin that it would be so cool if I could make a venison roast with a deer that he shot and use veggies that I grew.  Lo and behold...OUR HOMESTEADER'S DINNER!!

And the final expirement for 2012....my compost.  Needs a little more time to decompose, but luckily it has all winter.  Can't wait to put it on my garden next spring.  Next year, I'm taking the gardening up a few notches, so expect big things to come.

Playing Superhero

Last night, Daddy and Ty went to run an errand.  So Dallas and I stayed home and played Superhero.  Ty has a cape that snaps onto his "Super Ty" shirt, but Dallas doesn't have one, so we had to improvise with his blankie.
Then he proceeded to jump off the chair and show me how high his cape could fly.  Before each jump he'd say, "My cape gonna fly up into the fan.  Watch.  This gonna be soooo owie!"

New Rooms

I've had the boys' rooms redecorated for several months now, but they haven't been fully "finished" with everything on their walls and all.  So here's the official unveiling of their new and improved "big boy bedrooms."

Ty's 5!

Well, I can't believe it, but Ty's officially 5!  I'm not ready, but it's here anyway.  These are the pics taken at our house on Tuesday, his actual birthday.  Obviously, we got him a race track and he loves it.  It's taken some time to get him used to how fast the cars can go in order to make it around the curves and not just go flying off the track, but he's getting the hang of it.

The boys had preschool on Ty's birthday, so he got to bring cookies in for his class.  He said he stood on a chair and they sang to him.  He said he wanted pizza for supper, so Daddy brought home Little Ceasar's and we all just hung out at home and played with Ty's new toy.

I hope you had a great birthday, Ty.  We love you very very much and are so proud of the caring, smart, funny little guy you are growing into!

Godzilla Birthday Party

This year Ty has been really in to watching the Godzilla cartoon on Netflix.  So he wanted his 5th birthday cake to be Godzilla.  (Birthday parties really were easier when I picked the theme...)  So anyway, here's the highlights of the party.

For anyone wondering...it's nearly impossible to find a whole watermelon in October.  Let me give a HUGE thumbs up to Meijer's produce department!

Ty got a lot of Spiderman toys and legos

This is his present from Mammaw with Jasper and Cassie (my mom) that he said was his favorite gift.  It's a toy rifle with an inflatable deer decoy to shoot at.  He is his father's son.
Here are his Godzilla shoes from Mommy and Daddy.

And his spy glasses from Mommy and Daddy.  He has been playing "spy" a lot lately, so we thought he needed some official gear.  He wore them to bed for about 3 nights after his party.  He also got the video game "Skylanders" from his buddy, Stephen.  He says the deer is his favorite present, but he's played with Skylanders the most out of all his gifts.

Here he is shooting the deer....with a Spiderman glove on!

Tuttle's

When fall rolls around, obviously I can't get enough of the pumpkin patch.  So this week Trista and I took the kids to Tuttle's.

This picture took me about 6 tries to get one with them both smiling and looking in the same direction!

Ty and Ellie had a ball going down the slide together.

Riding out to pick pumpkins

The pumpkins at Tuttle's were HUGE this year!  We could barely find any normal sized ones, but Trista and I each ended up getting a really nice one....and for much less than we paid at Stoneycreek.
