State Meet

March 11, 2017
The boys both wrestled in the state meet.  There were thousands of kids at this meet, so they got to wrestle kids they normally wouldn't.  By some strange twist of fate, though, at Dallas's first match he had to wrestle the kid that pinned him in the first match of the last tournament.  He got pinned again.

He made a strong comeback in his second match and won!

Lost his third match.

Ty wrestled later in the afternoon, but unfortunately lost all of his matches.  It was a really long day and we were so proud of them because they really hung in there and did their best!

Scientist of the Year

Ty's science project for February was that he had to make an invention that incorporated at least one simple machine.  Here he is manufacturing his "Bully Stopper," which is a machine that hooks to a doorknob for a kid's treehouse or clubhouse and pops a balloon when an intruder is trying to enter.

Ty was so excited about this project and got the whole family involved.  Obviously, Justin helped with the design and manufacturing process.  I helped with the marketing.  And even Grandpa got involved, giving Ty a steel ball that he's had in his workshop for years.
The cutest part of this whole thing is that Ty insisted on bringing his tool belt to school on the day of the presentation.  The teacher sent home pictures, and you can see he wore his tool belt while he was doing his presentation.  I went to eat lunch with the boys that day and they had all done their presentations but the teachers hadn't yet decided on the winners.  Ty was so nervous, hoping that he had placed.
As soon as he stepped off the bus, he was holding this award out for me to see and he said, "Winner of the WHOLE THIRD GRADE!"  Woot Woot!  So proud of my boy!!!

Noah's Ark

At our new church we are starting a journey of going through the entire Bible in 3 years.  So during the week that we were learning Noah's ark we took the boys to see the replica.

Fishers Wrestling Tournament

January 29, 2017
The boys finally did their first real wrestling tournament.  The others have just been friendly meets where there really is no winner or loser.  Dallas got pinned his first match and then won his next one before getting put out in his third match.  Overall he did a great job and has really improved his mat quickness!

Ty won his first two matches, so he moved on to the championship match!

He ended up getting pinned in the final match, but got second in his weight class!  Not to shabby for his first tournament!!

Go-Cart Ridin' with Mamaw

Doesn't every little boy wish he had a Mamaw this cool?
