Easter

Here are my little guys having a "shirts off party" and coloring eggs.  (One day Ty came up to Justin and took his shirt off and said, "Let's have a shirts off party, Daddy!"  Ever since then, they randomly have "shirts off parties" which basically equates to doing normal activities...just shirtless.  Just the boys, of course....)

Notice my little lefty.  Both of them show a preference for their left hand, but Dallas exclusively writes with his left hand.

The take

The saga of the Easter pictures...
All week I had envisioned how I was going to get such great pictures of the boys in their Easter clothes out by the pretty purple flowers in our front yard.  So Easter morning, I made sure to leave a few extra minutes before leaving for church for my photo shoot.  Perhaps it was the candy they had for breakfast, but they really weren't in the mood to sit still and smile, so after about 10 minutes of, "Stand still," "Face this way,", "Dallas, SMILE," "Quit picking the flowers," "The sun's in my eyes," etc, etc, etc... these two pictures are the best ones I got.  Still good, but not what I had envisioned.  But what can you do with two preschoolers all hopped up on chocolate??  I should also mention that Justin was literally turning cartwheels behind me trying to get the boys to smile.  They didn't find it as entertaining as I'm sure the people driving by on 600 N did.

Daddy's Barber Shop

I noticed recently that the boys were starting to look a little scraggly, and I wanted them to have haricuts before Easter so I could get good pictures of them all dressed up in their Easter clothes (more on that topic to come....).  So out to the workshop they went.

He does a great job sitting still for haircuts, besides trying to pick his hair up off the floor and put it back on his head...or on my head.

This is how Daddy blows off the trimmings...with an air compressor.

Now the real fun begins....
Actually, Ty did a really good job and got several streaks cut in Justin's hair that were pretty clean.  One day soon he'll be able to check for missed spots for his Daddy (which is currently my job) and they won't need me anymore.  At least, for that...

My Garden

I've always wanted to have a garden, and this year I finally have enough yard!  So Justin was nice enough to do the grunt work for me and tilled me up 2 gardens. I'm so excited and have been nursing my little baby seedlings for several weeks now.

Here's the main garden.  I'm going to attempt potatoes, tomatoes, lima beans, peas, carrots, spinach, cilantro, oregano, basil and garlic.
This smaller patch is for strawberries.

Last week I planted yukon gold potatoes, and my little guys helped me get them all watered in.

The First Boat Trip of 2012

Here we are on the way to Brookville, cuddling our blankie.

And we're out.

As you can see, snacks are a very important part of the boating experience.
I can't get over how big Ty looks in this picture.  Makes me a little sad, actually.
The littlest fisherman has been practicing his casting skills at home and did an excellent job on his first fishing trip this year.  He didn't catch any fish, but we'll use the excuse that his lure has no hooks on it. :)
Sad to go home....

Daddy's Little Helper

Dallas has become quite an industrious little fella lately....always wanting to help Daddy with whatever he's doing...from building a fire....

...to fixing the sink.
