July 4

This year the fish fry started off with haircuts for me and the boys by our favorite stylist, Shayla!

And then, everyone dug in.....

And then, for a little swimming in our newly installed pool!  (Thank God that's over!!)

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

July 2, 2017
Justin got Indians tickets from his work for passing his drone test.  We got really great seats...right behind the Indians dugout.  We had a BLAST, but boy was it HOT!

When the players would go in to the dugout after each inning they would usually toss a ball up into the stands.  We finally were able to talk the boys in to hollering at them and asking for a ball, and they got one!

Man Stuff

Recently our oak tree died, and we had to cut it down.  The boys decided they wanted to do it with an ax, so Justin taught them how to use one and they took turns whacking at the trunk.  They got a pretty good chunk cut out before it was time to get ready for baseball, so Justin finished it off with the chainsaw.  Ty said that from then on he wanted every Saturday to be "Man Day," where Justin teaches them how to do "man things."

More "man" things...although this was on a Wednesday night.  Our county fair had donkey racing this year, so Justin and a buddy of his entered.  They did terrible, but it sure was fun to watch!  Ty is eagerly counting down the years until he's 16 so that he can do it too!

And here's Ty learning to drive the Bobcat.

15th Anniversary

I have the best husband ever.  For our 15th anniversary, he took it on himself to surprise me with a long weekend out of town.  We went to Saugatuck, MI.  He had even planned a dinner cruise on this paddle wheeler.  It was very fun and relaxing!  As we were waiting to board the boat for the dinner cruise a huge swarm of bees came by and landed in this tree.  All the other people standing around were walking away from them and Justin is over by the tree watching them and asking me what we could find to put them in to take them home.  HA!  I finally had to put my foot down and say we are not carrying a box full of bees around for 2 days!

Holiday World

May 26-29, 2017

Ty rode his first roller coaster this year, the Raven!  I was so proud of him because he was doing what I usually do, which is try to put something off that your're kinda scared to do.  The Raven is right by the entrance, so Justin was asking him as soon as we got there if he would ride it, and he kept saying that he would later.  Well, he finally just bit the bullet and said he would right then, so he and Justin went and got in line.  I went over to take their picture and, lo and behold, they are in line for the FRONT car!  Justin said Ty asked to go on the front because he's always heard me and Justin say it's the best place to ride, and he figured if he was going to go, he might as well do it right!

I tried to get a picture when they stopped, but I couldn't get back to that area in time.  Justin said he was like hyperventilating and then just all the sudden stopped and said, "That was awesome!!"  Needless to say, he spent the whole rest of the trip on roller-coasters.  He probably rode the Voyage 2 dozen times.  Finally, he ran out of people willing to ride it with him, so he just started riding by himself!  Papaw bought him his picture.
