Our Winter Family Getaway to Great Wolf Lodge
2/2/12 to 2/4/12
WOW! What a great time this was! The boys had such a blast playing in the wave pool, running around the sprinkler treehouse and going on the waterslides. Yep, even Dallas went on the big waterslides. More on that in a bit....
Here we are enjoying a liesurely horsey ride in the arcade...
Then Dallas the bus driver picked us up for a drive around town while we waited for the waterpark to open...
As soon as the waterpark openened, we hit the wave pool
Dallas had a lot of fun going around talking to girls and saying, "My name Dallas." (Ugh...I'm gonna have my work cut out for me in another decade.)
Of course, every so often, you've gotta pause for a snack
Then it's back to playing
I would say that the boys' favorite part of the waterpark was the wavepool. At first they were a little skeptical of it (Ty especially) but after he got used to it, Ty was riding the waves all by himself on his tube. They also had a treehouse with lots of different water toys and sprinklers on it that they liked running through. There were a few smaller waterslides for kids that they both went down, but their favorite was the big family waterslide that we could all go on together. It was pretty fast and I was a little worried it might be too much for them (especially Dallas), but they LOVED it! We rode that probably half a dozen times (which was a big advantage to going on weekdays...short lines). I wish I could've taken a picture of Dallas's face when we went down it the first time. He had the most shocked look on his face, but you could still tell he was having a ball. I couldn't stop laughing the whole way down the slide.
In the lobby they had this show where these trees and moose and Indian girl did a little skit and sang a few songs. Then someone came out with "Wiley" (the wolf) and read all the kids a bedtime story. The boys liked it. Dallas was really intrigued by the moose, and every time we walked by him he'd say he wanted the moose to sing. I kept having to tell him the moose was asleep.
