Trista and I like to do several different things with the kids every fall, one of which is go to a pumpkin patch. Last year we went to Stoney Creek and Tuttles. This year we just went to Stoney Creek (although we vowed not to buy pumpkins there because they were so expensive last year.) This is the only picture I got that day because it was a very bad day for me and I wasn't in the picture taking mood. That morning (a Wednesday) I woke up and was stretching in bed and something popped in my neck. The pain was terrible when I'd try to hold my head up so for about 20 minutes I just laid in bed with my head in my hands moaning. I almost had Justin stay home from work that day because I really thought I wasn't going to be able to pick my head up. My arms and legs were all tingly...it was nuts! But after I calmed down a little I found that if I held my head tilted to the right, the pain was at least bearable. Of course, that was one of those days for Justin where he couldn't miss work so I just had to suck it up. Ty had his 6 year check up that morning (of course) and I didn't want to miss it since he was on break from school that week. So I just toughed it out and took him to his appointment. I'm happy to report that he is a very healthy little dude, aside from having humongous tonsils that may need to be taken out eventually. After we got home from the doctor's office, we had about an hour before we needed to leave to meet Trista at the pumpkin patch. The boys wanted to go play in Cooper's yard (the new neighbor boy) while we waited (even though he wasn't home) and I told them that was fine. Stupid move on my part. I should've known better but I was so miserable that day and had found a warm sunny spot to sit in the yard and had my head positioned just right so it wasn't killing me for the first time all day, and I just wanted to sit there for a little bit and be comfortable. Big mistake! When time to leave rolled around, I hollered for the boys to come home and lo and behold when they came back they were both COVERED in MUD!! And I don't mean they were a little dirty....I mean covered in thick gooey sticky MUD...it was dripping off them! That was one of those times for me that all mom's have where you really think you are losing your mind. So I had a little nervous breakdown...but once I collected myself and got the boys changed...off we went to the pumpkin patch....where we didn't even look at pumpkins :)
