The Air Force Museum

A few weekends ago we loaded up the boys and headed over to the Air Force Museum in Dayton for the RV's 2012 inaugural "work the bugs out" trip before we head to Holiday World in a few more weeks.

We left on a Friday night, and there really was no plan as to where we were going to camp.  So we ended up sleeping in a walmart parking lot (redneck, I know).  I was plenty weirded out by this at first, but I have to admit it was pretty convenient...not to mention FREE.  So anyway, in the picture above, the boys are enjoying some hi-tech Dr. Seuss betime stories on the ipad.  We had them sleep together for the first time.  I honestly didn't think anybody but Justin was going to get any sleep that night because I was sure they would keep each other up all night and I'd have to be up refereeing.  (Of course, Justin would sleep right through all this....he wouldn't wake up even if a tornado came right through the middle of the RV).  BUT....to my surprise, after about 10 minutes of tickling each other (and maybe a few pushes and kicks and such) and talking back and forth, they both fell asleep and I didn't hear a peep out of either of them til morning.

So here are a few of the highlights from the museum.  It was fun, but honestly, I think it would've been better if the boys were about 5 years older.  They thought the airplanes were cool for about the frist 20 minutes.  After that, Ty asked if we could go home now about every 5 minutes.  HA.

The boys went to their first movie too.  We saw Hubble at the IMAX theatre in the museum.  Ty did great, but was a little scared when it would get loud.  Dallas did about like you'd expect a 2 year old to do at a movie (even though it was only 45 minutes long).  There was a lot of "Sit still," "SHHHHH" and "Whisper."  The best was when there was a picture of Earth on the screen and it was at a pretty quiet part of the movie and Dallas yelled, "That's the EARTH!"  HA!
